Celebrate Arlington

Mark your calendars now for Celebrate Arlington – a week of community events showcasing Arlington – on September 24th to October 2nd. As part of the celebration, Old Arlington, Inc. [OAI] will be hosting a boat tour of Arlington featuring presentations on the area’s history and its mid-century modern architecture. While its award-winning Mid Century Mod & More Home Tour was forced to postpone until Spring 2023, OAI’s boat tour will give people an opportunity to see and hear about Arlington from a unique vantage while taking in miles of its beautiful riverfront.

OAI’s History Boat Tours are scheduled for 1:00 pm and 3:30 pm on Saturday, September 24th. (Rain date is Sunday, September 25th.) The tours are chartered with River City Taxi and sail from Metropolitan Park, across the river to Arlington, then north along Arlington’s riverfront. On the outgoing leg, the narrated tour traces Arlington’s history from the early 1800’s, while the return leg features many examples of Mid-Century Modern architecture in Arlington.
