Brewsters Megaplex Comes to Arlington

Taken from the Florida Times Union.

There are big changes going on at the entertainment complex in the Town and Country Shopping Center in Jacksonville’s Arlington neighborhood.

What used to be the Plush, Leopard Lounge and Rain nightclubs are now The Edge, The Roc Bar and The Pit live music venues. Bruce Cataldo, owner of Brewster’s Pub and Pit, has joined forces with existing owner Tom Fisher. The Brewster’s location on Beach Boulevard is now closed.

There will be no more club nights, and the spaces have been undergoing major renovation. Expect the venue to be much nicer, he said. Not just nicer than Plush, but also much nicer than the old Brewster’s.

Brewster’s Megaplex will have a steady flow of national, regional and local artists playing for rock, country and indie hip-hop music fans,.

A soft opening for The Roc Bar will feature Saliva and Allele at 7 p.m. Friday, and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus will headline the grand opening on Friday, Aug. 10. The grand opening for The Pit will be Saturday, Aug. 18, with Adema.
